Thereafter, he returned to private practice in Singapore and continued to work on an ad-hoc basis for the UNHCR as a refugee lawyer. Kevin was admitted to practice in Western Australia in 2005. He joined Robertson Hayles Lawyers in February 2008 and became a director in 2009. Kevin believes that the law should be accessible to the public and has been involved with many organisations providing pro bono legal advice. He is currently a volunteer lawyer with the Perth Branch of the Citizens Advice Bureau, a community legal organisation. He is also a volunteer director with the Association for Services to Torture and Trauma Survivors (ASeTTS), a comunity organisations based in Perth providing services to refugees and humanitarian entrants who have experienced torture or trauma in their country of origin, during their flight to Australia, or while in detention. He is currently the Deputy Chair of ASeTTS. Kevin has previously been a committee member of the Law Society’s Criminal Legal Aid Scheme in Singapore, as well as a Board Member of Case for Refugees, an organisation providing legal assistance to asylum seekers and refugees in Western Australia.
